Helm Yacht Charters RYA Ocean Yachtmaster Qualifying Passages
The RYA Ocean Yachtmaster Qualifying Passages course will start with 1-2 days of planning, complete system checks of the boat and victualling and the candidates will have to actively take part in the entire process. The passage will consist of 600 nautical miles of non-stop journey and a minimum of 50 miles offshore. To pass the exam, you will be required to collect necessary sights that will be required as evidence.
After your return, you will have to present the sights to your RYA examiner who will interview you on your entire passage plan, log and other important criteria before he can award you the pass certificate. You will also need to pass a theory paper examination, if you have not completed the RYA Yachtmaster Ocean Shorebased exam.
Helm Yacht Charters organises five different ocean passages throughout the year.
