RYA Day Skipper Course For Women
If you have completed your RYA Competent Crew Course for Women, the next step would be to take up the challenge of being a skipper. You will be in more control and have better confidence on a boat. The RYA Day Skipper Course for Women is run by British Offshore Sailing School (BOSS) qualified women instructors, who will help you learn and be confident in every aspect of being a competent Day Skipper. All RYA sailing courses take place from the BOSS headquarters in Hamble Point Marina, in association with Helm Yacht Charters.
Helm Yacht Charters RYA Day Skipper Course For Women
The RYA Day Skipper Course for Women gives you a chance to learn the basic practical skippering skills on short passages during the day. You will act as a skipper of the boat and plan where to go, by what time to get there and overcome obstacles on the way. You will learn mooring in different difficult situations and your instructor will teach you to do this in the safest manner.
To join this course, you need a minimum of 5 days and 100 miles sailing experience, and that includes 4 night hours. You also need to have basic navigation and helmsmanship knowledge, so it is recommended to take the RYA Day Skipper shore based course beforehand.
Helm Yacht Charters offers flexible RYA Day Skipper Courses for Women. The course can be completed in 5 days with overnight accommodation on board the yacht. This can be made up of a 2 day weekend, followed by a 3 day weekend costing £230 and £335 respectively, or 5 consecutive days for £560. On successful completion of the course, you will receive your RYA Day Skipper certificate and will be able to take short passages by day confidently.
