RYA Boat Handling Courses
Our Boat Handling Courses are open to skippers looking to build their confidence in close quarter handling. The two-day course will focus on different aspects of mooring and manoeuvring a yacht in a busy marina and also river pile mooring and buoys. All RYA courses are run by the British Offshore Sailing School (BOSS) from their headquarters in Hamble Point Marina, in association with Helm Yacht Charters.
Helm Yacht Charters RYA Boat Handling Courses
Our experienced instructors will guide you through the various effects of prop walk, tide, wind-gauge, rudder shape and prop wash on a modern yacht and the candidates will be able to work on the aspects of boat handling that they want to improve. The course is conducted in a friendly and relaxed manner so that you can make the most of your time onboard. By the end of the RYA Boat Handling course you will have watched and learnt different parking scenarios and it is then up to you to practice and master those skills. If you are planning to take the RYA Coastal Skipper Course, this practical course will be an excellent preparation.
The Helm Yacht Charters RYA Boat Handling Course is run from the Hemble Point Marina and is a 2 day weekend course. There are various dates scheduled throughout the year and the cost of the course is £235.
